Chinese shares close flatChinese shares closed flat on Monday as steel makers' losses weighed on investor sentiment, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, ended down 1.04 points or 0.06 percent at 1,850.48 on turnover of 37.1 billion yuan (5.4 billion dollars).
The Shanghai A-share index lost 1.15 points, or 0.06 percent, to 1,943.06 on turnover of 37.0 billion yuan, while the Shenzhen A-share index was down 4.47 points, or 0.75 percent, at 594.31 on turnover of 18.8 billion yuan.
