专四常见词辨析：“不说话”&“装饰”
dumb, mute这两个形容词均有“哑的，不能说话的”之意。
dumb : 可与mute换用，但dumb指根本没有说话能力或失去了说话能力。
He is dumb on the subject.（他对这个问题表示沉默。）
mute : 多指因后天疾病而引起的聋哑，有时也指因故不说话。
The class remained mute when the teacher asked a difficult question.（老师问到难题时, 全班都沉默无言。）
decorate, ornament
这两个动词均含“装饰”之意。
decorate : 普通用词，指对人或物进行装饰，使之更加完美。
My mother likes to decorate rooms.（我妈妈非常喜欢装饰房间。）
ornament : 指装饰以精美之物，使某处或某物增添美丽的或景色。
They are ornamenting a Christmas tree.（他们在装饰圣诞树。）
