综合辅导：如何利用现有资料来准备新GRE考试
2011年8月，ETS将推出全新的基于自适应机考考试形式的GRE考试，很多准备前往美国读研究生的同学不得不面临着考试备考资料不足的问题。那么如何最大限度的利用现有的GRE备考资料呢？为了解决这个问题，首先我们要了解一下GRE改革的历史。过去十年来，GRE改革已是常态。无论是99年之后在大陆地区开始的GRE机考，还是02年之后，机考形式变成笔考与机考形式相结合（取消逻辑考试，改为分析性写作），包括这次改革，ETS都一直强调考试中对于考生逻辑能力的测试。众所周知，GRE与TOEFL考试的侧重点不同前者重在智商测试，后者在于语言能力测试。而ETS认为智商的测试似乎主要在考生逻辑能力的测试。从最初的逻辑考试到分析性写作，从类比反义词汇题到阅读当中的类比题（主要提问方式“下述哪一选项所述现象和原文第N行的说法比较相像？”或者说“下列哪个选项为原文的观点提供了一个很好的例子？”）和逻辑题（主要方式“哪个选项成立，会support/weaken原文的观点”），都在考察逻辑能力。现在ETS希望新GRE考试能够得到商学院的认可，与GMAT考试竞争，这种对于逻辑能力的测试有过之而无不及。
有了这种基本认识，我们再来看下这次改革变动最大的部分――填空。新GRE考试去掉了类比和反义词考察，填空部分除了单句题目（1-2空格）以外增加了两种形式：第一，段落填空 （ 1-N个空格 3选1）；第二，单个句子六选二填空。www.examｗ.com
段落填空题

第一空：
经典悲剧与现代悲剧，这两个词一出来，必然构成反义关系。第二句讲现代悲剧是“austere and stripped down”，那么找一个作为“朴素和坦诚”的反义词，所以第一个空选 C、multifaceted。
第二空：
所在句子是so……that结构，前面的its representation 指代的是现代悲剧，所以”nothing+空格”意思应该仍然是“朴素和坦诚”。当然由于nothing是否定词，所以空格应该选“austere” 的反义，所以第二空选 F extraneous.

</p> 第一空：读一本书能让我们对行星有refreshing（新）的效果，表明这本书作者写作的效果就是有让我们refreshing的效果。所以，他不会让政治使其破坏这本书“refreshing”的特点。所以第一空要选择有破坏，消除意思的词，排除illuminated。具体选择“overshadowed”“invalidated”还要看后句。
第二空：
第二空说作者不允许them（指代上一句政治纠纷）怎样。这样一来，上句和本句构成意思重复：
an author who does not allow facts to be (1)__________ by politics
= this author does not permit them to (2)__________
都是说作者不允许政治纠纷对该书书做怎样的动作。所以第一空推出动作是负面的，第二空也应该是负面的。因此第二空改选obscure， 第一空选obscure的同义词应该是overshadow。
第三空线索：
第三空前有and,与前面构成并列关系，the enormous gaps in our knowledge, =the sparseness of our observations, （and） the (3)__________,
应该选填写一个负面评价。而G plausibility 和 H certainty 都是正评价，所以选I superficiality。
* 通过对上述两道样题的分析，我们可以看出现在的填空考题对于同义词和反义词的考察仍然是很多的，所以我们可以利用老题型中的反义题型来增加对单词的理解和反应速度。
句子填空题（六选二）同义词双选样题

在这道样题中，句子逻辑关系的体现是“ in fact ”表示前后反义，前面说早期批评家误解Emily（著名女诗人）的诗是 “simplemindedness”, 那么实际上她的诗应该是_______。
这里肯定填“simplemindedness”的反义词。选项有两组近义词B、craft 和C、cunning（匠心独运和有计谋，狡猾），以及D、innocence 和E、naivete（天真和幼稚）。毫无疑问是选第一组。 “ Artlessness, craft, cunning, innocence, naivete”这些词以及它们的同义和反义词在GRE老题中经常出现。所以通过背红宝书，加上做GRE现有材料中的类比题目大大有助于新题型的考试成绩。
另外新的GRE阅读中增加的多选题也非常类似于老题型的罗马数字题。这些都可以通过老题型得到练习。
当然机考与笔考这两种考试形式还是有巨大差异的，为了适应自适应计算机考试，考生还可以反复的练习ETS提供的POWERPREP软件，并且尽量做好考试的前10题，这样可以比较好的体现自己的水平。
