新GRE小短文阅读练习题六十七

Park Ranger Chapman was bitten by a deer tick three days ago, and
some deer ticks carry the bacteria that cause Lyme disease.Today
Ranger Chapman has a fever, chills, and a headache, all of which can
be symptoms of Lyme disease. But because it takes at least four
days after a bite has occurred for these symptoms to appear, Ranger
Chapman’s fever, chills, and headache are definitely not attributable
to Lyme disease.

Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument relies?

A There are no other symptoms of Lyme disease besides fever,
      chills, and headache.
B It is not possible to have Lyme disease without showing some
      symptoms of the disease.
CRanger Chapman was not already infected with the bacteria
that cause Lyme disease at the time of the tick bite three
      days ago.
DNo disease other than Lyme disease could have caused Ranger
      Chapman’s fever, chills, and headache.
E A tick bite is not the only way that Ranger Chapman could have
been infected with the bacteria that cause Lyme disease.
