87.        The author concludes that photographers who work in color hold a competitive

author claims that the greater realism of color accounts for its predominant use in + d- `# x5 A2 A, P& k
magazines and portraits. The author also points Out that newspapers now use color # H9 L  [8 q2 _# S; b

available today. This argument is problematic in several important respects.

photography—where color predominates. It is possible that the overall demand for 6 T# P' k. ]. s
black-and-white photography remains high. Moreover, the author provides no evidence 3 V: l0 D  R% U
that the realism of color photography is the reason for its predominance. The

Second, the argument unfairly assumes that a photographer must make an

dilemma, since the two media are not necessarily mutually exclusive alternatives.

color is the best way to succeed in the field of photography.

In conclusion, this argument oversimplifies the conditions for gaining an " Z9 J: t* y1 `
