A savage rainstorm has swept southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality, forcing local factories to shut down and disrupting traffic.

Raging water roars down to Wanzhou city, creating wild waterfalls along the slope. Some communities have built sand-bag walls to protect their homes.

The downpour transformed a local machinery factory into a huge pond. Plumes of smoke are the only evidence of the production that once was.
