　　平时我们一说free ride(免费乘车)，首先想到的是“搭便车”，还可以用hitchhike或者give someone a lift/ride来表示。在国外，如果你想在路上享受free ride，那就要在路边等车时冲着司机thumb up(竖起大拇指)，因此“搭便车”也可叫thumbing up a ride，“搭便车的旅行者”则称为hitchhiker。
