专四常见词辨析-存钱“买”“房”
buy, purchase这两个动词均含“购买”之意。
buy : 普通日常用词，既可指日常随意购物也可指大的购买。
例如：Unable to find the book in this bookstore, he bought elsewhere.（这家书店找不到此书, 他到别处买去了。）
purchase : 正式用词，指大宗购货或购买重要东西。无感情色彩，强调物品的购得。
例如：Farm and sideline products of the peasants are purchased by the state at reasonable prices.（农民的农副产品由国家按合理价格收购。）
cabin, cottage, shed
这些名词均含有“小屋”之意。
cabin : 多指建造粗糙的简陋小木屋，也指旅客或船员住的船舱。现在也指节假日游游者的简便住房。
例如：Please book me a cabin on the ship.（请替我在船上订一间舱房。）
cottage : 指穷苦人住的乡间小茅屋。现在也指雅致的小住宅，在美国可指别墅。
例如：She lived in a cottage by the sea.（她住在一所海滨别墅内。）
shed : 一般指四壁没有完全封闭，供牲畜用或储藏东西、停放车辆等的简易棚屋。
例如：He built a bicycle shed.（他盖了一间自行车棚。）
