2012年大学英语六级语法：以-ly结尾的形容词（上）
有些以-ly结尾的词是形容词，通常不是副词，常见的例子有：brotherly, costly, cowardly, deadly, fatherly, friendly, lively, lonely, lovely, manly, motherly, silly, sisterly, ugly, unfriendly, unlikely, womanly 等。  
　　1. brotherly
% A" z9 Y- ?( `0 u" \9 {) r5 d　　The older boy gave the newcomer some brotherly advice. 那个年龄大一点的男孩给新来的孩子一些亲兄弟似的忠告。

　　It would be too costly to repair the car. 修理这辆汽车要花很多钱。

　　3. cowardly

　　Cyanide is a deadly poison. 氰化物是一种致命的毒药。

　　6. fatherly
　　He is a fatherly old doctor. 他是个慈祥的老大夫。
