本期重点:冠词   冠词主要考查不定冠词和定冠词的混淆。还有的是考查一些固定搭配,例如on the other hand, for instance / example(中间没有an)等。$ m: U6 d: n9 j) d# ?! z2 \7 `
  考点解析:% v4 n9 R' E  m
  例1:With occasional breaks for war, the rates of death
& d& ]+ a2 {$ v. f# e) T  and infection in the Europe and America dropped steadily S5._________" \" N' @! \) d
  through the 19th and 20th centuries.2 F" T( L! Z) d1 y
  解析:定冠词the通常表示特指。Europe是专有名词,无需加定冠词特指。: K& g7 t& C" H7 D1 C: U* E
  例2:Their experiments have shown that reading disorders" V* @6 ~  A8 c- A- A
  are most likely the result of what is, in an effect, faulty wiring S3. __________" w$ ^/ R# J+ {, c, W5 k# ^

  解析:in effect / fact是固定搭配,表示陈述事实,意为“事实上,实际上”。+ n. M9 g: Z; l3 X

7 x9 r, t6 E( _  解析:attend school意为“上学”,而不是特指“学校”,所以将the 去掉。相类似的词还有go to bed, in hospital(住院),in the hospital(在医院)等。

  根据谓语动词has been cut 和by ninety percent可知主语指的是麻风病例的数量,而不是指有许多麻风病例。2 v+ P8 {& \+ o3 z% h

  3. his -> the
$ ~  `: h' U% h5 U  在某些词组中,表示身体部位的名词前通常用定冠词。例如:I hit him on the chin;I gave him a pat on the shoulder.等。

: a! l3 E, t4 s' L! M. T9 ~$ Y  本句得主语是interacting with animals,谓语是lower。动名词作主语,谓语动词用单数。
& q' ~4 C0 a- k0 a$ S  7.visitors& B# J. S1 f$ q! u$ L. G" ]& Z' G
  8.creature -> creatures9 s( @2 P! B5 b  \
  由定语of all shapes and sizes可以推出被修饰的词应该是复数。' V% E6 z0 x& G
  9. have -> having
4 }7 B  t/ j1 f( x  简单句不能有两个独立的主谓结构,而此处的have a pet要做句子的主语,故应该使用动名词形式。
1 ~5 Z1 V3 P0 e% p: j9 ~  10.friendly -> friendliness( ?' L* {6 W  ~' N" n  l3 V4 _
  of是介词,后面要跟名词
