SHANGHAI, August 14, 2009 - Chinese shares closed down 2.98 percent on Friday amid concerns the government will tighten its monetary policy in the second half of the year, dealer said.The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, was down 93.59 points at 3,046.97 on turnover of 146.3 billion yuan (21.4 billion dollars).
