Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) is in talks with companies in China over potential investments in the mainland, Fahad Al-Swailem vice-president of the company's polyolefins unit, said in a South China Morning Post report. % J, E( Z1 h ?' l( A1 @8 ~

The company hopes to form alliances or co-invest with potential mainland partners on manufacturing as part of its strategy to tap the China market.

"We are talking to a number of parties in China and we are optimistic that something will be happening in this area in the future," Al-Swailem said. 2 x1 [. z8 F* g* z

He declined to give details but added some of the potential partners include major Chinese petrochemical firms.
