七、2003年3月份真题
（一）英译汉
1、The inevitable collapse of America’s speculative boom would not have been especially damaging if the world’s other advanced economies were healthy.
(1) The inevitable collapse of America’s speculative boom是主语，单独成一句
2、Deflation could emerge from simultaneous slumps in the world’s three major economies.
（1）条件状语从句：
（2）词性转化：slumps转化为动词，“如果世界上三大经济体同时出现衰退，就……”
3、Price drop because there’s too little global demand chasing too much global supply-everything from steel to shoes.
（1）词性转化：global转化为副词，“价格之所以下降是因为全球范围内需求太少，供给太多……”
（2）everything from steel to shoes：从钢铁到鞋子莫不如此
（二）汉译英
1、中国已经发展成为一个全球极富吸引力的大市场。
（1）发展；evolve, grow, develop
（2）全球：global
2、西部大开发一定能成为沟通世界各国和中国的一座桥梁，促进中国和世界经济共同发展，共同繁荣。
（1）一定能成为：evolve into或grow into
（2）世界各国和中国：China and the rest of the world

（一）英译汉
1、The professor’s project budget is the initial economic base that supports his independence within the university.
（1）教授的课题预算是其在高校里赖以保持独立的首要经济基础。
2、The project budget sustains both the existence of graduate students and the fiscal solvency of university, which takes a percentage “overhead” out of every project budget.
