　　Normally，the buyer does not remit the purchase price on open account，but allows the exporter to draw a bill of exchange on him.This arrangement offers advantages to both parties.The exporter obtains a negotiable instrument which he can turn into cash by negotiation at once，and the buyer is allowed a definite period of credit for settlement unless the bill is payable at sight.
