W( p  u8 f: t* e* I( A
% a+ n0 e8 h3 F/ k4 h1 w 2.given改为giving
  _3 o9 _3 X2 R4 _9 \" Y5 h5 x 动词give的主语是前面整个分句“it had a market eight times larger than any competitor”,它和give的关系是主动的,所以用giving。5 c8 V2 l) ~* B8 f7 p
  3.去掉that
& S( R/ C2 k5 m% ` whose在这里引导关系从句修饰the Europeans and Asians,因此这里不能再出现一个关系代词that了。5 z6 O1 \' Q5 P) \0 O
  4.found前加上had; n1 Q; z  z$ y3 p; V
( d. U% _/ g( W# F- ]1 G  R
  5.competition改为competitiveness3 i* x7 F* J5 {& X* {7 @: U( K
" g$ `& E. L6 H 6.electronic改为electronics( K# O0 @' O. T# l5 O6 L( z
! w! ~; C" U! P* j% L 在另一个短语 the end of one’s rope,rope则是单数,表示“某人耐心,耐力的限度”。. c+ k4 f6 p- Q% F4 i2 W
  8.had后面加上which/that
  g  V2 S- y# g5 [& Z& s0 K! l' M 这句话里面有两个关系从句,而且一个之中套另一个:which America had 是第一层关系从句,which sat at the heart of the new computer age 是第二层,它们所修饰的都是semiconductors,所以如果看不出两层关系从句就很难找出错误来。
2 T: ^/ G" X* F9 R4 e! G0 B1 a 9.grant改为granted3 G1 K5 r; c2 S
& g! X6 W9 C, d* k) ^ 10.mid-1980 改为 mid-1980s
