W% b  O( o5 y# w+ V+ k
  1.is--are
The old receive particular respect in Chinese society.( ^- I, I5 z/ r2 M
  2.large-largely7 F) A7 g1 F. o6 [
The fundis largely financed through government borrowing.
) V  q, G4 a; o6 L4 p  L 3.the(age)--/
The coming of ,the age of the postwar baby boom,这样断句意思解释不通。# o& W& ?* }1 u3 `
  4.has--have
0 [, W" d8 g8 @4 h9 k9 ?; S( e) {& W3 m
  5.involved^--in
6 r6 m+ _7 K* j% u: Z1 n+ T involved后面少了in,表示“关于,涉及到”,如All the children were involved in the school play.+ D9 {% Q( \1 v# j2 s0 l. U0 m
  R1 k7 z! a$ T+ M The report states that 42 percent of the alunmi contributed to the endowment.; b0 @6 P+ A  w. r' R9 C- C
* g1 E. @$ m( J) r- O There has been a ten percent increase in the number of new students arriving at polytechnic this year.
9 e; V+ t1 O( d/ G+ \" ? 7.^countries--other
+ f2 n. B7 q+ W3 z( u5 C2 u 8.mechanic--mechanical
{* F; ?7 `: w) \* P
  9.eyebrow--eyebrows, k# L" B6 ?" b  }5 M' X
S* V$ B! B5 l* l( @3 `
  He raised his eyebrows over some of the suggestions.: i+ i8 T! S# O8 A8 \0 f, P- Z
  10.of--for
8 E9 }- p' o4 S+ v) c respect 后面通常跟for接人,表示“对(某人)的尊重”,如:respect for the old。
