  1.is--are
The old receive particular respect in Chinese society.
' N' ]+ ~. _: a 2.large-largely
The fundis largely financed through government borrowing./ r% z) E1 u9 T9 J4 Q
  3.the(age)--/
The coming of ,the age of the postwar baby boom,这样断句意思解释不通。
6 n. c4 [9 [( z3 y* M! P. h! Q 4.has--have" `+ ^; ^9 `  e" n8 h* r: t4 @
3 K! U, R, n* u  k6 k+ c 5.involved^--in
/ k8 Y# j) g& z) }% h0 |$ E. U5 L' ]3 y involved后面少了in,表示“关于,涉及到”,如All the children were involved in the school play.
% M2 y- S% q4 a/ t" u4 J8 [  N/ V6 K 6.^Japanese--of
7 s; u" {' C# Z 当percent做名词时,它后面应加上介词of,如:9 y7 P- n% t: M7 c: ?8 J( J
The report states that 42 percent of the alunmi contributed to the endowment.
" C" V. @3 B4 r( d! \, `9 O4 V3 T- H2 r
There has been a ten percent increase in the number of new students arriving at polytechnic this year.
( i' G0 ^# O8 t8 w$ t* g 7.^countries--other
$ O; I$ ^6 r2 k" c6 f* W  从上句话中可知道Japan也参与了这次普查,因此在这句话里的比较结构中Japan应和其他10个同意参加普查的国家进行比较,所以应注明是10 other countries。: }, j# Q! P0 i$ ]9 A
  8.mechanic--mechanical
+ ]( k1 |( f+ v' M: z! X 9.eyebrow--eyebrows
0 G  e; I! e) h6 A. L
He raised his eyebrows over some of the suggestions.
) q1 J' a, s+ h( [ 10.of--for: m$ G' I) }- u
  respect 后面通常跟for接人,表示“对(某人)的尊重”,如:respect for the old。
